Expanding UTA has signed a new long-term lease at Vornado Realty Trust’s 888 Seventh Avenue and plans to build a new NYC headquarters, the talent and literary agency announced Wednesday. With the recent acquisitions of The Agency Group, the world’s largest independent music agency, and New York-based Bienstock, the market-leading agency for broadcast news talent, the company outgrew its current offices but decided not to move from its location next door to Carnegie Hall.
The new offices will triple UTA’s existing 15,000 square feet of space on the sixth, ninth and the 11th floors. They will enable the company to relocate in one space all its Gotham-based agents, executives and staff, including those still in the nearby offices of Bienstock, at 250 West 57th and The Agency Group at 142 West 57th.
“Consolidating our team in New York has been a top priority, and we’re excited to create a vibrant new space that will offer an enhanced experience for clients and colleagues,” said UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer. “Our New York presence is critical to the growth of the agency and our ability to deliver the opportunities our clients need and expect.”
UTA will continue to operate from its worldwide headquarters in Beverly Hills and offices in London, Nashville, Toronto, Miami and Malmo, Sweden. The company has more than 300 agents and more than 700 employees globally.
“We explored a number of other midtown and downtown options, but ultimately it came down to liking our building and wanting to stay in midtown,” UTA spokesman Chris Day told Deadline. “It’s a great place for us,”.
UTA, which also has been beefing up its agent roster, will occupy the entire seventh floor and portions of the eighth and ninth floors at 888 Seventh, located between West 56th and West 57th Streets near Columbus Circle. Move-in is planned by year’s end.
